David Briars
We are migrating from 8105M/Developer Studio to 8207/Application Studio. It looks like I am not able to create synonyms in AS/8207 like I was in DS/8105M. Is that correct If so, I would guess I would now create synonyms in the Reporting Server web pages
Jan Vostr
Hi David, Not anymore, in the latest AppStudio it forwards you to the Reporting server and you can do it only there. I have an older version of AppStudio on the Test and you are still able to do it there but in the latest not anymore. To be honest, it is very frustrating to do it on the Web, very confusing for me. Try to get some older version of AppStudio (unfortunately I cannot provide versions of the AppStudio) but then you risk incompatibility with versioning of the AppStudio and Reporting Server. Jan Vostr
Its working in this version Version 8207 Gen: 08312020 Packaging ID: 8207.16_09012020 In this one not really, only via Reporting Server Version 8207 Gen: 02192021 Packaging ID: 8207.26_02202021
Martin Yergeau
DavidBriars: It looks like I am not able to create synonyms in AS/8207 like I was in DS/8105M. Correct. After 8207 version 22 you cannot anymore I have upgraded (still in dev only because lots of issues to migrate in prod) Client & RS to 8207_28 but have kept AppStudio to 8207 v22, for now
David Briars
Thank you for your comments/confirmation Jan and Martin. (We have installed and are now verifying 8207.28.) OK, I was able to create a synonym AOK from the Reporting Server Console AOK. It did seem like a few more clickity-clicks than from the WFDS/Synonym Builder.
