Ben Maxwell
Im working in WebFocus 8.206 and I was wondering if there is any trick to link a Master file to a Business View (which has established hierarchies). Join I am attempting - When I do the join I can only view the fields from the Business View master file.
Debra Waybright
I didnt think you could join business view to other master files. Hopefully someone a little more versed in Business Views can confirm or refute that.
Manoj Chaurasia
Hi Benjamin Sorry I totally forgot about trying this out. In 8.2.06 I joined a master file to a business view and saw fields from both when trying to create a report with App Studio. If this is still a problem for you then I suggest you open a case with techsupport.

Charles Morris 2
For whichever table you need to see the key columns (probably the BV), just add the keys to the BV but set the ACCESS_PROPERTY to INTERNAL - that way you should be able to see the column(s) in the JOIN tool but not in any reporting tool. Nothing that Im aware of that should prevent you from JOINing a Master to a BV, although you could just add it to the cluster base for the BV
