how the InfoAssist report and document options varies to each other just trying to understand those both options in InfoAssist. I see in reports, insert tab is disabled while in document the insert tab is enabled.

Yes. Document hasnt changed much since its a part of InfoAssist. A lot of the behavior is being added to Visualization in the future.

I believe most of ib development is focused on Designer. Since Document GUI is a part of InfoAssist you may be right. However, the syntax it generates in code will still be there and I think even Designer uses it. Ultimately, the goal is to have a single unified authoring tool that produces Charts, Reports, Pages and Documents.
