Ricky Ray 2
Hello all, I am currently dealing with a baffling situation. I have a procedure that runs fine, but is refusing to play nice with Reportcaster. I set up the schedule, using the same parameters in the Task that I use when I run the procedure natively. An XLSX file is getting generated, however, in the Task Log View the log shows No Report To Distribute Schedule Executed On Demand at () Job placed in the waiting queue at 2022-01-19 12:31:27.506-0600 (1,642,617,087,506) Job started running at 2022-01-19 12:31:27.507-0600 (1,642,617,087,507) Job remained in waiting queue for 0.001 seconds Starting task: Task 1 Task type: WebFOCUS Report WebFOCUS Report: Task domain: null Connecting to server EDASERVE with execution id at 2022-01-19 12:31:27.673-0600 (1,642,617,087,673) Executing focexec. 0 XLSX FILE SAVED Connection to the Reporting Server EDASERVE closed at 2022-01-19 12:32:28.353-0600 (1,642,617,148,353) Job ran on the Reporting Server EDASERVE for 60.678 seconds Task finished. I am on 8105m. Any help
john cullen
Hello Ricky, ReportCaster can be quirky. You need to check the override the format specified in the procedure on the tasks tab. Enter the filename, and the output format you need. I have seen this with procedures that have hold files, and compound excel reports. The override format seems to solve it. Make sure your report is PCHOLD and not HOLD. HOLD wont distribute. PCHOLD will.
Martin Yergeau
A thing that you can do when you use RC to create HOLD file is to add that last step in your fex -* -------------------------------------------------- -* THIS STEP IS ONLY TO AVOID THE RC WARNING FROM NO REPORT TO DISTRIBUTE -* -------------------------------------------------- TABLE FILE CAR BY COUNTRY NOPRINT HEADING " END OF MY HOLD FILE" WHERE READLIMIT EQ 1; ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML END -RUN
Ricky Ray 2
This is exactly what it was. It was a compound report and for whatever reason, it needed to have the Override Format option. Thank you jnc!
Ricky Ray 2
jnc was able to diagnose my issue, but thank you for your insight. I will keep this in my back pocket!
