Hi Catherine, you should be able to set the drop down to affect the other charts too. WebFOCUS should add the code to filter in the background.

I am trying to use multiple drop down filters in a document. They are being used as a cascading filter. I would like to filter line graphs but I do not want the field inside that chart. Is there any way to have a drop down filter for a field that is not in the graph

The issue is the field has to be in the chart in the by. But I do not want the field included in the by in the chart because I have 5 filters that I want cascaded and if I have all 5 fields in the by on the chart it will look like a very bad chart. So I am trying to find a way to have optional dropdown filters for charts in a document without needing the field to be inside the chart.

A filter is a WHERE clause not a BY.

No reason to have it as a BY

It is a drop down analytic document prompt not really a filter in the normal context of a filter.

If it is a prompt then it should filter otherwise why prompt Is this still an issue You can also make it a BY but not make that visible in the report (NOPRINT).
