Martin Yergeau
Once in Designer, select Data tab then Join Editor, add the joined fields and add your condition by clicking on Expression image.png786447 19.5 KB image.png695455 22.5 KB

Martin Yergeau
Can you explain further I saw, from your first post, that you have an error regarding joined field format that are not matching. Maybe you should fix that first
Ben Maxwell
Is there a way to create a where-based join in Designer Studio 8207.27 Joining Fiscal_YR to FISCALYEAR Issue with actual and usage type In App Studio I was able to create a where-based join without having the need to modify the master files. Is there a similar option that I havent stumbled up yet
Ben Maxwell
The challenge here is one table is pointed to view of my GL data, and the other table is a table which is tied into a Fiscal Year, Period table. I cant really change the format types of these tables, or I would have to create another Business View of the table to effect the formatting. In App Studio I was able to do a where-based join, and that seemed to do the trick.
Martin Yergeau
Except if I havent found the way to do it, sadly, it seems that a WHERE based JOIN as done in AS its not possible using Designer. I have created DEFINEd fields and have tried to use them in the JOIN without any success. The DEFINEd fields dont even display in the JOIN editor. So, my previous posted steps are not good in that situation where you need to join two fields having a different format based on a DEFINEd field to have them matching. Maybe in a further release this will be possible
