Kristi Carter
I am looking for hopefully an easily solution within the Info Assist and/or Designer option to be able to Transpose Columns to Rows and visa versa. I was thinking at one point I saw in a demo or something that this is an option within Info Assist or App Studio, Designer or something. Is there an option in 8207.27 (as we are upgrading to this soon) What it looks like now: The below is what we would like it to look like in the end. The measures are in Row format and the years are in column format. Thanks, Kristi Carter
Douglas Lee 2
I think youre referring to the PIVOT option in Designer during the synonym creation process.
Warren Hinchliffe
I think the MacGyver technique will do it, but its not point and click simple. Can be done in IA, but as for Designer, more difficult, unless you edit the generated code. Hoping someone else has a better idea
Kristi Carter
Yeah I did find that option, but I was hoping in Designer or Info Assist. I will explore the PIVOT option as well however.
Kristi Carter
Any chance you could provide a sample to apply in IA
Todd Wallace
This is just an across sort on an uploaded Excel document right You can hold the file and run an across on it. Across in IA.png1090991 133 KB
Kristi Carter
Across is not really what we are looking for here. In your example- Country across the top is fine, however the Row would be listed as Sales, Retail Amount, etc not the car listing. If we use the Across it would then put the Sales, Retail Amount, etc., across the top for every Country, which is not what we are looking for. Hopefully I am explaining that right
Todd Wallace
Ok thats harder. I can do it in App Studio not in IA. Use the command Over at the end of your values and it puts the rows over one another. Across with over in App studio.png980793 53.9 KB
Kristi Carter
Awesome - I will give it a try. Thanks.
Warren Hinchliffe
If the over doesnt work, let me know and Ill build and IA example. Its a bit involved. Requires DEFINES, JOINS. Also format need to be taken into account as well (from what I can see from your example)
Kristi Carter
This looks like it is going to work. It would be great to have it all done in the GUI, but at least I can still develop what I need using Info Assist Text Editor. Thanks all for the help.
