Guest Posted June 29, 2021 Share Posted June 29, 2021 FORMAT FOCUS gives an error message: (FOC36385) LONG SEGMENT/INDEX NAMES CAN NOT BE USED WITH SUFFIX=FOC But FORMAT XFOCUS lets you index a field with name longer than 12 characters, to a HOLD file, and use in a JOIN.
